How does a day in Victoria drinking some of the best craft beers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond sound?
I agree, it sounds awesome.
If this sounds like your cup of beer, why not get on the BeerTourist Foray to the Festival bus Saturday, September 10, 2011 and head over to the Great Canadian Beer Festival (GCBF) with us. BeerTourist has a line on tickets for the event and is in the preliminary stages of planning the "Foray to the Festival Tour". The GCBF tickets usually sell out in a matter of minutes, once they go on-line for sale, but through our extensive contacts, we are attempting to secure enough tickets to take a busload of beer tourists for this amazing event. We will only be selling 50, so once we put our tour tickets on sale, act fast so you don't miss out.
It will be a one-day trip, heading over on the 0900 (9am) ferry, so we can be the first through the gates when they open at noon then returning immediately after the event which ends at 1800 hours (6pm). It will be a long day but one that promises to not disappoint. BeerTourist was speaking to the event organizers recently and they have stated the line-up is exceptional this year with most of our top local breweries in attendance along with an array of other Canadian and US craft breweries. The final list of participating breweries has not been finalized, but if it is anything like last year's line-up (& we have been told it will be even better) the day will be epic!
If you aren't familiar with the GCBF, it is more than just a day of sampling great beer (although that is definitely the focus). It is a day of great music, food and happy beer enthusiasts all together in an open-air stadium in Downtown Victoria. Below is a note from festival chairman, Gerry Hieter, taken from the GCBF website.
Let us know by contacting us at info@beertourist.ca if you want to be added to our wait list for tickets. By putting your name on the list, you will not be committing to any payment, but will be placed in a priority line to get first chance to buy tickets when they become available in a little over a month's time. We will contact those on our list to announce details and give them first dibs on the trip.
You don't want to miss out on this event! You can take your chances with the rest of the general public and try to get tickets on-line when they go on sale July 23rd, or guarantee your day at the festival by coming on our tour, leaving the ticket hassles and driving to us.
See you on the bus

"The GCBF is held each year on the first weekend after Labour Day with over 45 craft breweries from across Canada, Belgium and the Pacific North-Western USA and more than 7000 happy people coming together in the beautiful city of Victoria to celebrate the diversity of the brewers' craft. We will have tickets secured and plans set by the end of June so you can reserve your spot on the bus and guarantee your entry into the festival well before they go on sale to the general public. Stay tuned to BeerTourist for more details about price and the exact trip itinerary. Your Foray to the Festival ticket will include return transportation, by bus/ferry & a ticket into the festival which includes a tasting glass. Those going on the tour will be responsible for buying their own beer tokens and food at the festival.
Once again, this year, we will feature non-stop entertainment by local acts and as always there will be a fantastic selection of food offered by local restaurants and caterers."
